This article will help you if your A Series sound dips in and out occasionally.
On certain TV models you may experience a 'dip' in sound when you've got your A Series soundbar connected via optical. The problem arises from the TV momentarily stopping the output of sound, which your soundbar responds to by fading out then back in.
This is an unfortunate development since the launch of 2018 Samsung and LG TV's that has started to affect the older TV's with the last few updates as well. It affects almost all soundbars and is not limited to Orbitsound. Unfortunately, Samsung have yet to acknowledge the issue officially (LG did so within a month) or respond to our or other customers’ requests for a fix. We know the issue should be fixable via a firmware update to the TV as certain TV’s did not have the issue until the 2018 update and some have been fixed by subsequent updates (and in most cases then broken again by another update, multiple times).
A quick and easy fix can be achieved by switching to the AUX or Bluetooth sources and connecting the TV via those methods. Otherwise:
Connect directly to the source device. For example Sky/set top box or games console.
For a samsung TV without audio out/Headphone out use bluetooth or connect directly to the source device. For example Sky/set top box or games console.
To set a Samsung TV up via Bluetooth go to home>Settings>Sound>Speaker List> and change it to Bluetooth Audio. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the soundbar and then refresh the Bluetooth list on the TV. Pair/connect the TV and bar and switch both off. Then switch the TV back on followed by the bar. A message will then appear on the TV please press okay and sound should then come from the bar. You will have to say yes to this message every time you power the soundbar on. When the bar is off the TV speakers will come back into use. If you turn the TV off by the mains, then you may have to repeat the initial pairing process.
With an LG TV AUX is the best option, even over digital/optical/hdmi in most cases, though Bluetooth may also be available. If you use a set top box, games console or Blu ray player then switching the optical over to one of these and making a few settings changes will also fix the issue.
